Phil did a great job doing the garage door repair; however, I think the Precision Garage Door prices for most of their parts are a rip-off, which made the job cost about $300 more than what it should have been. So, my low rating on Precision Garage Door is not because of their skilled labor but because of their outrageous high part prices!!!

This was ALMOST a 5 star service. Almost because my technician did not tell me that when he installed my new garage door opener with their highest cost product that I would be losing functionality! I plainly told him that I always turn the power off to the opener when I am in the house. He failed to warn me that if he installed that particular door, it would beep constantly while the power was off. The best Precision would do was offer me a $100 refund & unplug the back-up battery. I paid over $250 for the backup battery! So 2 problems: No warning about loss of functionality, and an insufficient remedy.

I chose Precision Garage Door from an online search because they were proximate to where I live and they received generally favorable online reviews. I was impressed with their rapid response, and Brian, the technician, was at my house within 90 minutes, even though my garage door situation, as I explained to the dispatcher, was non-urgent. Brian, was an exceptional technician and went right to work after a quick assessment of my problem, and resolved the issue within an hour. Where I felt disappointed was the cost of the repair. The service charge was reasonable, but the mark up on the parts was 800 percent of what I could have purchased OEM parts on Amazon for. Also, after diagnosing the issue, it would have been much better if Brian would have told me first what he was going to charge me for the parts and service, instead of just disassembling the sensor unit and installing a new one and handing me what I felt was an over-priced invoice, considering the cost of the part and the relatively short time it took to complete the job (< 60 mon). Pros: Rapid response & technical expertise Cons: Up-front communication of job estimate prior to repairs; High mark-up of parts. Bottom line: Satisfied with the repair, but will move on from Precision Garage Door and look for another repair service if I should need service again.
